Meet the Founder

I'm desi (aka selvita, an experimental artist, multidisciplinary creative & Berklee College of Music alum) 🤗🎶 I've spent five years building curricula for intermodal, trauma-informed somatic work that moves between cultivating safety in the body and empowering people to thrive after trauma.

I founded Body Alliance Expressive Arts to train facilitators in that intermodal somatic arts technique — to release, to heal, and to step into embodied leadership. 🌱 Through trainings over the years, I've mentored more than 150 students in somatic healing, and watched what happens to a person's creative voice when their nervous system finally has the tools to find safety and belonging, even in the face of challenge and difficult emotion.

After years in the somatic healing and trauma-informed world, something kept bothering me: the practices that genuinely changed people's lives were locked inside high-ticket containers that weren't accessible to everyone. A weekend workshop. An extensive training commitment. A retreat. Real transformation — but only for those with the resources to enter demanding spaces.

Marrow is those practices, in your pocket. 📲🤍 Accessible, approachable, and still just as potently transformative. Same lineage — somatic, expressive arts, trauma-aware — made small enough to do daily and priced so that money isn't the reason you don't.

I built it for the creative I keep meeting: enormously gifted, deeply sensitive, and quietly convinced they aren't ready, or worthy enough, to share their art.

The Marrow Approach ⚡️

Almost every creative tool is built for output. Make more, ship faster, post daily, build the audience.

Marrow is built for the thing underneath the output — the nervous system that reaches for safety as you excavate your most authentic, creative truth.

Because the block was never a discipline problem. When your body reads being seen as danger, you will find a hundred reasonable ways not to finish it, not to price it, not to post it, not to say what you actually mean.

That isn't laziness or a lack of talent. It's protection. And protection doesn't respond to forceful demands. It responds to feeling safe.

So Marrow works on four intertwined pillars — the four places the block actually lives:

🧠 Mindset Shift: the mental patterns shaping how you see yourself and your work.

🌿 Somatic: Ground your nervous system, so your body becomes a safe place to create from.

🪞 Belief: Surface the old stories that block your expression — and rewire them into something truer.

🎤 Voice: Find, trust, and use the voice that is actually yours.

Who is this app for? 🙋

Marrow was built for artists who feel everything deeply.

Whether you work in one medium or blend many:

  • Painters who feel their medium as a conduit

  • Writers & poets who find solace in the freedom of word play

  • Dancers & performing artists who heal through the stories their bodies tell

  • Sonic artists who metabolize feeling into frequency

  • Design artists & photographers whose vision runs vivid and wild

  • Multidisciplinary, conceptual & textile artists weaving their inner world into experiential moments

And every other creative soul who yearns to tend their inner world, so they can share what they make without fear ✨

The 14-Day Creative Courage Challenge

Fourteen days. One prompt at a time. Not a course to complete or a streak to protect — a gradual, deliberate walk toward the work you've been circling.

Each day falls into Mind, Body, or Spirit, and each one asks something small enough that you'll actually do it. You mark the day complete, leave a short note about what surfaced, and watch two weeks of showing up accumulate into something you can see.

It's designed to be approachable.

FAQs

Is Marrow a replacement for therapy?

1

No, and it isn't meant to be. Marrow is trauma-aware and body-based — the practices come from an intermodal somatic arts lineage — but it is a daily creative practice, not treatment, and there's no clinician on the other side of it.

It works well alongside therapy. It doesn't work as a substitute for it. If you're in crisis, please reach out to a licensed professional or a local crisis line.

Do I need experience — with somatic work, or with art?

2

Neither. Every practice walks you through it step by step, and most take five to fifteen minutes. If "somatic" is a new word, that's fine — it just means the work happens in the body rather than only in the mind. You'll understand it by doing, not by studying first.

And you don't have to be a trained artist, or call yourself one at all. If you've never identified as "creative" but have always quietly wanted to try — to paint, to write, to move, to make something — this is a good place to begin. Marrow isn't about skill or output. It's about tending the ground creative work grows from, and everyone has that ground.

How do I access the app after purchasing?

3

After checkout you'll receive an email with your access link and App Store download instructions for iOS. Android and web users get full access through a mobile web app. Marrow will only keep growing from here.

You're joining while it's still taking shape, which means every practice and every feature added from here is already yours, at no additional cost. It also means your feedback shapes what Marrow becomes!

How is this different from other creativity or wellness apps?

4

Most creative tools are built for output — write more, ship faster, post daily, grow the audience. Most wellness apps are built for calm, and stop there.

Every practice comes from an intermodal somatic arts lineage, built for the specific fears that stop creative people: being seen, being judged, being exposed. No streaks, no feed, no audience. It tends the ground the work comes from.
